Overwatch mobile heroes: all confirmed characters

An Overwatch mobile spinoff titled Overwatch Rush is officially in active development at Blizzard, with early playtests already underway. For now, testing is limited to the Philippines as the studio gathers community feedback and refines the game’s experience.

While only a few Overwatch mobile heroes have been revealed so far, Blizzard has signaled plans to expand the lineup over time. Here’s everything we know about the confirmed Overwatch Rush heroes to date.

As of February 27, 2026, the Overwatch mobile character roster comprises eight confirmed heroes:

According to an official blog post from Blizzard on February 24, 2026, an additional four Overwatch heroes will be added to the game, though it isn’t clear if these heroes will be appearing in the playtests or the full release version. These heroes are: 

As of February 27, 2026, it is not clear if all Overwatch heroes will be imported into Overwatch Rush.

Blizzard only recently announced the mobile game on February 20, 2026, so there isn’t much information available beyond the playtests and what they have confirmed.

Based on the developer’s commitment to “expand the Overwatch universe,” it is likely that more heroes will become available, especially at launch.

Rather than the usual Tank, DPS, and Support roles that are used in the PC game, Overwatch Rush has several sub-classes that each hero fits into. Based on early development footage, the following categories can be seen:

The sub-class element of Overwatch Rush seems to be a prominent feature, though we won’t get a thorough understanding of how it functions until playtests roll out across more areas. 

That said, it is safe to assume that the mobile platform will make a huge difference regarding how the roles function. The table below provides more details on the sub-classes for each Overwatch Rush hero:

Interestingly, sub-classes in Overwatch Rush are not bound together strictly by the major classes in Overwatch.

For example, Brigitte is a Support hero in Overwatch, but she fits into the Vanguard sub-class in the mobile game alongside Reinhardt. In a similar vein, Doomfist is a Tank hero in Overwatch, but he is part of the Fighter sub-class, alongside DPS hero Soldier: 76.

This could make for an interesting take on the class and sub-class hero categorization aspect of Overwatch as a whole. 

Yes, the Overwatch mobile heroes will play differently from the PC and console versions due to the platform change.

Reiterating Blizzard’s original statement, “Overwatch Rush is an entirely new game – not a port – built specifically for mobile players.”

Mobile games are specially designed to be easier to access, with simpler controls that allow for a more diverse audience. Because of this, the heroes in Overwatch Rush will inherently feel different from how they are played on PC or console.

You can unlock heroes in Overwatch Rush simply by playing games and earning player levels. 

From the playtest footage, it seems that some heroes are also unlocked as rewards. For example, Reaper can be unlocked via Daily Gifts by logging in and playing the game for three days. Many other rewards, including Prisms, Loot Drops, Victory Poses, and skins, can also be obtained in this way.
