Karmine Corp sweep MVK to reach first Worlds Swiss Stage and draw Anyone’s Legend

Karmine Corp beat MVK Esports 3-0 to take the last Swiss Stage place at Worlds 2026. The French organisation becomes Europe's third team in the main event and opens against the LPL Split 3 champions.

Karmine Corp are through to the Swiss Stage of the League of Legends World Championship for the first time. In Los Angeles, the Round 4 decider went their way. Mid laner kyeahoo took the MVP award. Next comes a best-of-one in Allen, Texas. Anyone’s Legend will be waiting when the Swiss Stage opens.

A five-game opener against Cloud9 nearly ended KC’s run

The run did not start comfortably. KC opened on 15 October against Cloud9 and needed all five games to win. That series almost ended their tournament.

KC then met MVK in Round 2 on 16 October and sent the Vietnamese team into the lower bracket. MVK fought back by beating FURIA 3-1 in Round 3 on 17 October. FURIA had knocked out Cloud9 by the same scoreline the day before.

MVK’s lower-bracket win earned them a second meeting with KC in the decider. The format left little room for error. Four teams played a double-elimination bracket. Every match was a best-of-five using Fearless Draft, and only the winner moved on.

KC still see room to improve. Jungler Yike spoke to Hotspawn after qualifying. He felt the team was playing at around 80% of its peak.

Anyone’s Legend draw hands KC an opponent they have beaten

KC drew LPL first seed Anyone’s Legend in Round 1. The French side are the LEC’s third seed. Elsewhere, G2 face Dplus KIA and Movistar KOI face Bilibili Gaming. Pool 1 teams were drawn against Pool 4, and Pool 2 against Pool 3. Teams from the same region could not meet in Round 1. An all-LEC tie between G2 and KC was therefore not possible.

KC have recent form against their opening opponent. They beat Anyone’s Legend this summer at the Esports World Cup in Paris. Head coach Reapered raised that result when discussing the draw. A best-of-one leaves no room to recover from a slow start. The Paris win at least gives the French side a reference point.

Yike also has other teams in mind. On the official broadcast after the draw, he said he wanted revenge on Bilibili Gaming, who knocked him out at his two previous Worlds. He also named Team Liquid, who beat KC at MSI.

The tournament runs until 14 November and carries a total prize pool of US$5,000,000. The Swiss Stage and knockouts take place at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center. The Grand Final is at Barclays Center. The Swiss Stage itself runs until 31 October.
