Quest owners in the UK, Australia, Japan, Mexico, South Korea and Singapore can now use Meta AI on their headset. It arrives with Horizon OS v2.9, and owners enable it in the headset settings.

The assistant also gains seven languages: German, French, Korean, Japanese, British English, Spanish and Italian, Meta says. v2.9 is reaching Quest 2, 3, 3S and Pro gradually from this week.
Owners turn Meta AI on in the settings once v2.9 has arrived
Meta says owners enable Meta AI from System settings on the Quest.
Because the rollout is gradual, the option will not appear until v2.9 reaches your headset. Some owners in the new countries will wait days longer than others.

The new languages do not bring Meta AI on Quest to Germany or France
The language list is wider than the country list. Germany, France, Spain and Italy are not among the six new countries, even though their languages are now supported.
So a Quest owner in Berlin gets no new access from this update. Meta has not said when more European countries will follow.

Meta AI reached Quest owners in the US and Canada two years earlier
Meta brought the assistant to Quest in the US and Canada in 2024, as an experimental feature in English only, as we reported at the time. Owners in the UK and Australia have waited more than two years.
On Quest 3 and 3S, Meta AI can also open the new QR code scanner. Saying “Hey Meta, open QR code scanner” does it without a menu.
