Voxel Playground has launched on Steam for $6.99 in the US, bringing its destructible physics sandbox to PC VR and ordinary monitors. Cydream released the game in Early Access on October 27, with a free demo available to try first.
The Steam release is single-player. Its destructible environments offer room to experiment with different approaches to each scenario.
The developer’s overview describes structured scenarios alongside the open sandbox: a bank robbery, a prison environment and zombie survival. You can work towards an objective or simply spawn objects and see what happens when they collide.

The bank heist lets you choose how to break in
Cydream’s Bank update notes from October 16 describe a vault, valuables and a getaway van. A security uniform provides a disguise, while keycards open restricted areas. A pickaxe or C4 offers a more destructive route.
Cameras monitor restricted spaces and displays, guards investigate suspicious activity, and witnesses can report violence. Setting off the alarm sends civilians fleeing. The objective ends with reaching the van after collecting the loot.
The same update introduced more physical weapon handling, including working a pistol slide, operating a sniper rifle’s bolt and opening a revolver’s cylinder. A blood-effects toggle lets players switch the more graphic effects off.

You can try the demo before buying into Early Access
The developer expects Early Access to last roughly 12 to 24 months, with the timetable subject to change. It plans more scenarios, progression, better building tools and performance improvements. The launch version still comes with a warning to expect bugs and balance changes.
Steam lists OpenXR support and Oculus Touch or Valve Index controllers for VR. Minimum PC requirements include an Intel Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600, 16GB of memory and a GTX 1060. The demo gives you a way to check whether the sandbox suits your setup before paying.
