August 13, 2025 – Vuzix, a supplier of smart glasses, waveguides, and augmented reality (AR) technologies, has this week announced the Vuzix LX1, a ruggedized, hands-free smart glasses device designed for warehouse operations.
Vuzix stated that the LX1 is built for full‑shift use with a 7000mAh battery rated for a 10‑hour runtime, a modular mounting system, and freezer‑rated operating temperatures. Features include a heads‑up Sony OLED color HD display, scanning capabilities, voice control, and a Qualcomm processor.

The device is designed to support hybrid voice and vision picking, with at‑a‑glance access to pick lists and data, visual scan confirmations, and onboarding workflows that can include mapping, palletizing diagrams, and multi‑language text. A 4K camera supports see‑what‑I‑see sharing and AI‑assisted tasks such as inspections and knowledge transfer.
Additional features include a bone conduction microphone, an enhanced microphone array for two‑way communications and voice‑activated scanning, NFC tap‑to‑pair, Wi‑Fi 6E, and Android 15, with yearly OS updates and stated SoC availability to 2030, according to Vuzix.
“Supply chain customers are looking for alternatives to their traditional pick-by-voice solutions. Driven by ongoing customer feedback, the operation of the LX1 is simple and fast, making it the ideal next generation picking device,” said Paul Travers, President and CEO of Vuzix. “Designed for hybrid voice and vision picking, the LX1 is ready to work with customers’ current software or can seamlessly integrate into existing SAP systems with our Vuzix Mobilium solution.”
Travers added that while the LX1 is a purpose‑built warehousing device in a category separate from Vuzix’ all‑purpose M400 smart glasses, the company has seen “significant” interest from its M400 customers in the logistics space looking to upgrade.
“Customer feedback on this new model has thus far been excellent, and we look forward to seeing it put into use within multiple name brand customers’ warehouses,” noted Travers.
The company stated that the LX1 will begin sampling shortly, with production and general availability expected before year‑end, and that manufacturing will be handled by Vuzix partner Quanta Computer.
