More Masks means you can take more of a beating before being sent back to the nearest Bench, and the longer you can survive a fight, the more you learn.

All Mask Shard locations in Hollow Knight Silksong
There are 20 Mask Shards to find in Silksong, and it costs four of them to add one mask to your health bar, for a maximum of 10 white masks of health. Some of them are fairly straightforward to acquire, needing only a bit of platforming or maybe a combat gauntlet.Others, like the one in the Far Fields, will have you being chased by literal lava through a platforming challenge after a gauntlet.

| Bilewater | From the lower of the two large shafts that bisect Bilewater, take the eastward hallway, and continue east through two smaller shafts. You’ll eventually reach a long room laden with Clawline rings and platforming challenges, with the Mask Shard waiting at the end. |
| Blasted Steps | Above the westernmost edge of the first level of the Blasted Steps. You can do some fancy platforming to reach the chamber above the zone or wait until you get Silk Soar from Act 3. |
| Bone Bottom | Purchased from the starting merchant Pebb for 300 rosaries. |
| Choral Chambers | Access the Cogwork Core and take the first hallway west, survive an enemy gauntlet, and you’ll find the Mask Shard at the end of a squat hallway. |
| Deep Docks | Approach from the upper reaches of The Marrow to the west and go through the combat gauntlet to reach the Shard. You’ll need the Cling Grip. |
| Far Fields | In a breakable floor northwest of the Seamstress’s balloon hut. Use the air currents to reach the entrance, activate the air current beneath the first set of spikes, then break the floor on the next piece of safe ground you find. |
| Far Fields | After getting the Clawline, head east from the Seamstress’s balloon and use the rings to enter the skull hut. Go all the way to the bottom of the chamber inside, clear the gauntlet, then complete the platforming challenge back up while being chased by the lava. The whole thing resets if you die. |
| Far Fields | This Mask is at the farthest eastern point of the Far Fields, but you can only collect it by completing the Fastest in Pharloom Wish during Act 3. |
| Mount Fay | Make your way across the lowest level of Mount Fay after acquiring the Faydown Cloak. The Mask Shard is at the top of a hollow cylinder at the westernmost edge of the area. |
| Mount Fay | Reachable only during Act 3 with the Silk Soar ability, the chamber with this Mask Shard is smack in the middle of Mount Fay, slightly west of the large crystal shaft you pass during the main ascent. There’s a lengthy platforming challenge to reach it. |
| Shellwood | Across from and slightly below the Shellwood Bellway is a room with a platforming challenge about as long as the chamber is. The Mask Shard is at the eastern end, beyond the challenge, and behind a breakable wall. |

| Weavenest Alta | Take the light elevator down to the bottom of Weavenest Alta, then climb up the shaft until you can go right. Keep right until you reach a lava chamber. You’ll need to complete the platforming challenge to the right wall, then up and to the left to reach the shard. |
| Whispering Vaults | Drop a ladder on the second lowest level, in the small hallway on east of the main chamber. Hit the moving box upward and clamber up to find the Mask Shard under glass. |
| Wisp Thicket | This Mask Shard is at the easternmost edge of the area behind a platforming section that loops back around such that you’re facing west. |
| Wormways | Enter the Wormways from the east and take the first path down. Fall all the way into the water and break the wall to your right to find the Shard. |
