Evo has set out the full plan for its first event in South America. Evo Brazil 2027 will run from 26 to 28 March 2027 at Expo Center Norte in São Paulo, with eight titles on the main lineup and at least R$1m in guaranteed prize money spread across those competitions.
Competitor registration and ticket sales both opened on Tuesday 27 October. Each tournament entry costs R$50 per game, while the first batch of spectator passes is priced at R$180 for a single day or R$490 for all three days, according to the official Evo Brazil website. That early tier is on sale until 28 December, after which regular and final batches push the full price up to R$250 and R$690 respectively.
Eight games on the main stage
In alphabetical order, the lineup is Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves, Guilty Gear -Strive-, MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, Mortal Kombat 1, Street Fighter 6, TEKKEN 8 and THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV. All main events use open brackets, so any registered player can enter.
How the R$1m will be split between the eight titles has not yet been published. Alongside the main stage, the festival programme includes an Evo Museum, an Artist Alley, cosplay activities, an arcade area and space for community run side tournaments.
A bumpy start for ticket sales
Launch day did not go entirely to plan. A few hours after the announcement, the official Evo Brazil account told fans that ticket sales had been paused. Sales resumed later that evening, with Evo explaining that it had fixed an internal technical error affecting the ticket prices shown on the site. Buyers who purchased before the correction will receive a partial refund covering the price difference.
Part of a wider international push
São Paulo is one of several new stops planned under owner RTS, which is also taking the brand to China, Mexico, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and Singapore, on top of its established events in the US, Japan and France. The Esports Radar reports that the Latin American rollout is headed by Rafael Queiroz, Evo’s Head of LATAM and previously General Manager of Team Liquid Brazil.
Commercial backing for the debut comes from global partners Visa and PlayStation Tournaments. Visa signed on with Evo earlier this year in a deal that, per Evo’s own announcement, runs through early 2028.
Brazil is not new territory for the brand. São Paulo staged the Versus: Evo South America events in both 2008 and 2009, and Evo General Manager Rick Thiher pointed to that history in the press release: “Bringing Evo to São Paulo will be an opportunity to honour this legacy, highlight the incredible passion of Brazilian players and fans, and invite the global fighting game community to take part in the next chapter of Evo’s history.”
The March date also places Evo Brazil early in a busy 2027 competitive calendar, as publishers and organisers rework their circuits. Esports Insider recently looked at the new qualification routes for the Esports World Cup 2027.
