League of Legends Patch 25.12: Tune-ups ahead of MSI 2025

Patch 25.12 is a stabilising update, tightening the screws on the current solo lane meta and keeping the League of Legend’s balance steady ahead of the MSI-defining Patch 25.13.

Rather than disrupting the AP and fighter changes from 25.10 and 25.11, this patch reinforces them, fine-tuning champions’ performance without shifting the meta’s center of gravity.

No wild changes, no item overhauls, just careful touch-ups to the champions that stood out—or fell behind—after the last two patches. That means more focus on bruiser top laners and influential junglers while the mid lane is still influenced by AP flexibility.

With Fearless Draft pushing pro teams into broader champion pools, 25.12’s tweaks will likely influence which solo laners remain safe blind picks and which niche options rise in value as counters or playstyle pivots for wildcard teams. And while no single champion has been launched into stardom this patch, several have quietly re-entered the spotlight at just the right time for some underestimated player to steal the spotlight during a high-stake match.

On the mid lane front, Ahri takes a hit to her charm duration and ult uptime, a clear message from Riot to tone down her skirmish reliability—we’re looking at you, Joseph ‘Jojopyun’ Pyun. With the nine-tailed fox out of the picture, buffs to LeBlanc and Twisted Fate open the door for roam-heavy and tempo-focused mid picks, both particularly valuable in regions where cross-map play is always a safe strategy.

Vi, the junglers’ comfort pick for the past few weeks, finally gets nerfs to her durability and CC, potentially shaking up early jungle priority. Patch 25.12 doesn’t rewrite the playbook, but it does highlight the champions likely to decide playoff finals and influence MSI prep. 

With a clean and stable meta heading into 25.13, Riot now has room to go big and surprise both fans and teams looking for a challenging MSI. However, Patch 25.13 will likely introduce the final buffs to rising solo lane picks, a possible revisit to support item diversity — and one last attempt to shake up the jungle arms race.
