- Unlocked: 10 Bandages
- Ability: Fast with long jumps
Ed is a long jumper and is essentially a better version of Super Meat Boy. If a level requires lots of running and big jumps, he should be the go-to choice for fast times. He is easy to use, and the only downside is that Ed is rather tall, meaning it’s possible to bang his head.

Skeleton Boy
- Unlocked: 15 Bandages
- Ability: Light and fast
With how light Skeleton Boy is, he moves at lightning pace in the air, and it’s possible to skip entire sections of a level with a jump and air dash. While falling, it’s also possible to change direction multiple times thanks to his weight, and he zips around everywhere super fast.
The only downside to Skeleton Boy is that his jump is rather low, meaning he can’t get over some objects. Usually, the solution is to jump around them, but there are some levels where it’s best to choose someone else.
Nate
- Unlocked: 40 Bandages
- Ability: Double jump
There are a few characters who can perform double jumps unlocked later on, but Nate can be unlocked partway through the third world from collecting Bandages, and his double jump is the biggest.
