Each HoYoVerse game involves a returning player system to offer an incentive to come back after being away for a few weeks with extra bonuses and rewards, and the Zenless Zone Zero Back in Business one will change after the 2.8 update. There will be some new additions, and in some cases the amount of items doled out will be higher if it’s been over 42 days since someone played. The HoYoLab reveal went over the system in general, the Reset Check-in and Polychrome Supply elements, the Upgrade Boost, and the new Business Guide missions.
First, HoYoVerse established that the Zenless Zone Zero returning player system will feature the same requirements, with anyone needing to first get to Inter-Knot 20 and Main Story Chapter 1 – Intermission. From there, things get a little more specific. If it’s your first time dealing with Back in Business, there needs to only be a 14-day gap between playing. If it isn’t, you need to have gone for at least 42 days without playing. (That sort of works out to skipping a full version.) If you trigger it, then the returner event runs for 16 days and features 100 Polychromes and the Business Guide, Polychrome Supply, Reset Check-in, and Upgrade Boost events.
Some of those events to claim items ar esimple. The Reset Check-in is a login event that gives you 320 Polychromes and 20 Prepaid Power Cards for coming back for three days during that 16-day period. The Polychrome Supply element just gives you 100% more than usual from certain events, just as Upgrade Boost involves double drops from Combat Simulation, Disc Drives, and Expert Challenges for a limited number of times. You can do this three time for Expert Challenges, five times for Disc Drives, and 20 times for Combat Simulations. Finally, the Business Guide features some specific events, though HoYoVerse didn’t mention examples for them.
Zenless Zone Zero is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices, and the returning player system changes and 2.8 patch arrive on May 6, 2026. The game will also head to Steam around 3.0.
