Power Rangers in Space changed the traditional monster-of-the-week format in Angel Grove into an all-new serialized space opera, and with it came the franchise’s most relentless villains yet. The Psycho Rangers are cybernetic hunters created by Astronema and powered by Dark Specter, and they were each programmed with a fighting style designed to counter their opposing Power Ranger. This meant Andros and the team could never beat their evil doubles in a fair fight.
The villainous team was so popular that they returned for Lost Galaxy as data ghosts and eventually gained a brand new member in the Boom! Studios comic run of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Which one of these villainous rangers is actually the strongest?

Psycho Blue Was Easily Defeated
He Was Stopped by a Simple Outfit Change
With all of these lists, someone has to be at the bottom. This time, the honor goes to Psycho Blue because of how easily he was defeated. T.J. worked out a flaw in the Psychos’ programming where they were designed to fight their color counterparts and nobody else, so all of the Power Rangers morphed into the Blue Space Ranger. In the confusion, Psycho Blue fought the entire team by himself while the rest of the Psycho Rangers sat on the sidelines and watched. T. J. and Zhane finished off Psycho Blue with a combined attack before dealing with his monster form.
While it may seem like Psycho Blue is tough to beat, since it took the whole team to defeat him, the real problem comes from the fact that he was defeated by a simple costume change. If a villain is defeated by their enemies changing the color of their outfits, then they are not as formidable as some may think.

Psycho Yellow’s Greatest Weapon Was Her Mind
She Turned Into a Computer Virus to Hack a Megazord
Psycho Yellow was the smartest of the Psycho Rangers, and she used her smarts to become the last one standing. While her team fell in “The Enemy Within,” she chose not to fight the Power Rangers and their Mega Voyager head-on. Instead, she converted herself into a computer virus and seized control of the Megazord from within, and turned the Rangers’ greatest weapon against them. If it wasn’t for Psycho Red’s meltdown, where he struck the Mega Voyager and forced her to eject, she may have been able to defeat the Power Rangers.
She survived longer than the other Psycho Rangers in Power Rangers in Space, but it still wasn’t enough. Despite her very impressive showing, Psycho Yellow is not higher on this list because her wins come from her tactical prowess rather than raw strength. She might be smart, patient, and hard to kill, but she was just not enough of a heavy hitter when it really counted.

Psycho Black’s Strength is Unmatched
He Was Able to Haul a Megazord on His Own
If Psycho Yellow was the brains, then Psycho Black was the brawn. “Silence is Golden” gives him the strongest physical feat of the entire series. While the Power Rangers throw everything at the giant Pychos, Black shrugs off the valley, grabs the Mega Voyager, and pulls it toward a vortex. The Power Rangers have to bail out of their own Megazord to avoid getting swallowed with them.
His monster form also holds its own against two Power Rangers at once, which he repeats in Lost Galaxy’s “To the Tenth Power,” where the revived Psychos take on the Space and Galaxy teams simultaneously. That time, it takes the Spiral Saber and Quadroblaster weakening him for the Light of Orion Power-Up Mode to finish the job. Rather than using tricks or gimmicks, Psycho Black opted to throw his weight around, which was very effective.

Psycho Pink Had the Strongest Second Act
She Was the First Villain to Kill a Power Ranger
While Psycho Pink was defeated first out of all the Psycho Rangers, she came back with a vengeance. After her data survived the Psycho Rangers’ destruction in “The Enemy Within,” Deviot revived her in Lost Galaxy, meaning she was the only one to survive the combined onslaught of 10 Rangers. After slipping away, Psycho Pink wasn’t done yet.
In “The Power of Pink,” she got her revenge by draining Cassie’s energy and healing herself using the Savage Sword. Psycho Pink then grew into a giant monster whose energy storm engulfed an entire planet and reached Terra Venture light-years away. It took the combined strength of the Galaxy Megazord, the Astro Megazord, and even the sacrifice of a Power Ranger to defeat her. The Pink Galaxy Ranger, Kendrix Morgan, had to sacrifice herself in order to stop the storm created by Psycho Pink. It was the first true death of a Power Ranger in the series, which earns her a top three spot on this list.

Psycho Red Could Only Be Defeated Using His Own Power
He Was the Leader of the Psychos and Obsessed With Andros
As the leader of the Psycho Rangers, it was fitting that Psycho Red would be their most powerful member to appear on television. His obsession with destroying Andros made him nearly unstoppable. In “Carlos on Call,” he single-handedly overpowered the entire Power Rangers team and nearly finished Andros before Psycho Black pulled him back to deny him the glory.
In “The Enemy Within,” Psycho Red refused to let Andros escape, and his rage became a weapon. After knocking Psycho Yellow out of the Mega Voyager, he brainwashed his teammates to combine their power into a blast that overwhelmed four Megazords at once. The Power Rangers could only win by redirecting the Psychos’ own energy. Although it ended up being his own demise, Psycho Red’s rage made him the most dominant villain in Power Rangers in Space.

Psycho Green Was The Deadliest Psycho Ranger
He Was the Original Psycho Ranger
The strongest Psycho Ranger never appeared on television; he comes from Boom! Studios’ comics, and he predates the entire TV team. Trek, the Green Ranger of the Supersonic Rangers, betrayed and murdered his own teammates at Dark Specter’s urging, and Dark Specter fused his Morpher with dark energy to create the very first Psycho Ranger: Psycho Green. A corrupted connection to the Morphin Grid lets him channel energy blasts whether morphed or not, and a gem embedded in his forehead grants empathic abilities bordering on precognition. He can feel his enemies’ emotions and act on them before they strike. Most impressively, Psycho Green survived for decades buried under the surface of the moon, since his powers preserved him in the prime of his youth on dark energy alone.
When he resurfaced in Power Rangers: The Psycho Path, he single-handedly reprogrammed the other Psycho Rangers’ data cards to revive them and led an assault on KO-35 that threw the planet’s satellites out of orbit and killed hundreds. It took all five of the other Psychos turning on him to finally bring him down, and even then, he was merely imprisoned. The original Psycho Ranger remains the deadliest of them all.
