Raven Prism Linux Wearable Computer Now Available for Pre-Order

    What’s the story?

Raven Resonance has opened pre-orders for Raven Prism, a standalone Linux computer built into eyewear, after first showing the device publicly at Augmented World Expo (AWE) 2026.

    Why it matters

Raven Prism runs without a smartphone and is open to customization, giving creative professionals, makers and developers low-level access to its Linux operating system to build on

    The bigger picture

With eye control data processed on the device, a physical camera cover and Raven Wings hot-swappable battery modules that can be exchanged without a restart, Raven Prism takes a different approach to smart glasses design

November 4, 2026 – Raven Resonance, a developer of eyewear-based personal computing hardware, has recently announced that its Raven Prism wearable computer is now available for pre-order with a fully refundable USD $49 deposit, following the device’s first public debut and demos at Augmented World Expo (AWE) earlier this year.

According to the company, Raven Prism is a standalone Linux computer in the form factor of everyday prescription eyewear, created for creative professionals, makers, developers, and enterprise users. It runs on RavenOS, the company’s Linux-based operating system, and does not require a smartphone. Raven Resonance described the device as “the world’s first Ambient Computer”, defining ambient computing as interfaces that appear when needed and then fade into the background.

The company stated that Raven Prism brings real-time information into view through a full-color liquid crystal on silicon (LCoS) waveguide display, which provides a virtual viewing experience comparable to a 16-inch display at arm’s length. According to Raven Resonance, the device features privacy-preserving eye control implemented in hardware, while voice interaction and wireless peripherals through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth complement the gaze-first interface.

Raven Prism is powered by a quad-core 64-bit ARM processor and supports native Linux applications, Secure Shell (SSH) access, and developer customization. It ships with more than 25 applications available through its own app store and provides low-level access to the operating system.

“Since showing Raven Prism publicly at AWE, it’s been exciting to see it resonating so well with technical creatives, developers, and enterprises. People are clearly ready for a radically better relationship with personal computing,” said Thomas Suarez, co-founder and CEO of Raven Resonance. “For decades, the computer has lived on a desk, in a pocket or in a bag. Raven Prism puts a powerful, open Linux computer directly into your field of view, accessible through your eyes and voice, without demanding your constant attention. Opening pre-orders is an important step toward bringing that capability into people’s vision. This is a new kind of personal computer.”

    The Raven Wings hot-swappable battery

One of the device’s key innovations is ‘Raven Wings,’ a patent-pending modular hot-swappable battery architecture that connects magnetically to an expansion port on the frame. According to the company, Raven Prism preserves system state during battery exchanges, allowing users to swap batteries and continue working without restarting the device, relaunching applications, or losing their place. Raven Resonance added that, beyond power delivery, Raven Wings are designed as expansion modules capable of introducing additional hardware functionality over time, such as AI accelerators, cellular modems, GPS receivers, and more.

When it comes to privacy, Raven Resonance stated that eye control data is processed locally on the device, no user data is transmitted off-device without explicit user consent, and core AI capabilities are designed to run locally whenever possible. Raven Prism also includes a physical camera cover that blocks image capture unless intentionally removed by the wearer, and the company’s proprietary ‘Beakon’ visibility system illuminates indicators integrated into the frame that make camera activity readily apparent to both the wearer and those nearby.

Designed and engineered in California and manufactured in the United States, Raven Prism’s initial production run is expected to begin shipping to early adopters in January 2027.
