BLAST Open London 2025: format, schedule and teams

BLAST Open London 2025 is the latest Counter-Strike 2 tournament operated by the tournament organiser and the world’s best teams are set to battle it out once more.

Beginning on August 27th, 16 teams from across the world will compete online in a bid to secure one of eight places at the LAN playoffs taking place at London’s OVO Arena Wembley.

Before the action begins, here’s everything there is to know about BLAST Open London 2025, including the participating teams, format, and schedule.

The 16 teams competing have been split into two groups of eight that will use a double-elimination GSL format to determine which teams advance to the next round. All group stage matches are best-of-three series.

The top three teams from each group will secure a place at the LAN finals, with the winners of the group advancing directly to the semi-finals. The team that places second in the group will move to the quarter-finals as the higher seed, while the third-placed team also qualifies for the quarter-finals with the lower seed.

Online matches run from August 27th to September 1st, with the LAN finals taking place from September 5th to 7th.

LAN finals will use a single-elimination bracket to determine the eventual winner.

Ahead of the event, several teams withdrew from the event, resulting in several unannounced teams receiving invitations to compete. Fnatic has replaced HEROIC, Imperial Esports has filled the gap left by PaiN Gaming, while Team Liquid replaced The MongolZ.

Several of the world’s best teams will be in attendance, with Team Spirit looking to knock Team Vitality off the top spot of the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) with another strong performance.

For FaZe Clan, the event will mark the debut of Jakub ‘jcobbb‘ Pietruszewski after joining in place of Jonathan ‘EliGE’ Jablonowski, who has been placed on the bench.

For several teams in attendance, a good performance at BLAST Open London 2025 could spark a shift in September’s VRS, which is expected to be unveiled following the tournament.
