November 5, 2025 – EVA (Esports Virtual Arenas), a France-based developer and operator of large-scale location-based entertainment (LBE) venues, has recently unveiled EVA Karting GP, a new virtual reality (VR) racing experience revealed during Paris Games Week 2025. The company first shared the news on its Discord channel and social media accounts. The original announcement was made in French.
According to French outlet Le Figaro (originally published in French), the EVA Karting GP experience combines real electric go-karts with a virtual racing environment viewed through a VR headset. Players physically drive within a 500-square-meter arena while seeing a digital racetrack complete with tunnels, chicanes, and power-ups. The setup allows participants to experience real motion and drifting while competing against others in a shared space.
The project, which apparently only started development a few months before the event in Paris, grew out of the EVA team’s interest in racing games, according to EVA co-founder Jean Mariotte. The company’s VP of Games, Paul Catuli, noted that the team drew on its experience from earlier EVA titles After-H Battle Arena and Moon of the Dead.
Le Figaro reported that the current version of EVA Karting GP supports four players, with each session lasting about twenty minutes. By the time the experience rolls out to the company’s venues worldwide in September 2026, the player count is expected to expand to six or eight players.
Images from the event suggest that EVA Karting GP may utilize the Pico 4 Ultra Enterprise headset, which features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 platform and dual 32MP color passthrough cameras. This has not been confirmed by the company, however.
Following the event, EVA described the game’s debut at Paris Games Week as “just the beginning” in a social media post.
Founded in 2018, EVA operates large-scale VR esports venues that blend physical movement with immersive gameplay. Its flagship title, After-H, is played in arenas of up to 1,000 square meters, combining athletic activity with competitive gaming. The company currently lists over 60 venues worldwide, with the majority located in France and Belgium. EVA also states that it has plans to expand to the United States.
