August 11, 2026 – Meta has recently announced the recipients of its AI Glasses Impact Grants, awarding nearly USD $2 million to 30 organizations across the United States that are using artificial intelligence (AI) glasses to support workforce safety, education, accessibility, agriculture, and economic opportunity.
Ray-Ban Meta glasses are Meta’s AI-powered smart glasses that let wearers keep their hands and attention on a task while accessing real-time information hands-free. The company noted: “whether you’re on a ladder, under a hood, or navigating a city in a wheelchair – glasses are easier and safer to use.”
What are Meta’s AI Glasses Impact Grants?
The AI Glasses Impact Grants program is Meta’s initiative to fund organizations building real-world applications for the glasses. Meta launched the program in January this year with two grant types: Accelerator Grants for organizations already scaling proven impact with the glasses; and Catalyst Grants for developers building applications for the glasses through Meta’s Device Access Toolkit.
The company stated that it received nearly 500 applications and selected recipients based on demonstrated impact, scalability, and relevance to areas where hands-free technology can make a difference.
Recipients of the grants came together in New York City last month for the AI Glasses Impact Grant Celebration & Community Summit. The three-day event was billed as bringing together grant recipients, developers, and community stakeholders to “connect, collaborate, and share what they’re building.”

Accessibility and independent living
- American Council of the Blind, The Arc Davidson County & Greater Nashville, Braille Institute of America, Deaf Equality, Easter Seals Greater Houston’s BridgingApps Program, Easterseals Iowa, OurLife Labs, PACER Center Inc., TraVolve Wellness, United Spinal Association, and VisionCorps.
Workforce development and employment access
- The Carroll Center for the Blind, Illinois Assistive Technology Program, and Strategic Workforce Development (SWD).
Construction, engineering, and jobsite safety
- Citadel Safety Group, Inberg-Miller Engineers, Mycelia Foundation, Orascom LLC, and Oversite.
Field service, industrial, and remote expert support
- Embarcadero, ManageXR, Onsite, and Proformance-AI.
Agriculture, environment, and land management
- Agerpoint, C.H. Fenstermaker & Associates, and Trust Carbon Infrastructure.
Education, training, and STEM
- BESN X Community, I Would Rather Be Reading, Immerse Inc., and University of North Texas.
