exhilarated about STRAW, his forthcoming Netflix flick, Tyler is shy not one bit to tell the world! The director and star tweeted his excitement about the film, stating: “IM IN MY BAG YALL!! This movie is so good. I mean so good! I can’t wait for y’all to see it.” Coming on June 6th to Netflix, her Tyler Perry venom will surely rip it for everyone to watch. However, while most are raising their levels of excitement, very few choose to take Perry sideways.

First and foremost, the hype squad came out kicking and screaming. CreativeSunnyx kept it short and sweet: “Am proud of you @tylerperry.” Saveon Alston shouted: “Keep dropping them TP 💥.” “And another one!🔥🔥🔥🔥” was G-Z300ZX’s less-than-classic expression of excitement. So classic. keke🌸 knew what was up with, “ouuu I can’t wait to watch it😙.”
Others are simply wondering about it all. Where’s the Madea energy? Drenchh side-eyed Perry and asked, “smhcht wea da madea shit @,” meaning, “Where’s the Madea content at?”. Pretty fair question, that is. Meanwhile, LEAH ᥫ᭡ is getting in the way, asking, “Why would u give her character that young ass name doe I ain’t never heard no auntie name Janiyah.” That’s…actually a pretty good point.
Other people are just looking for status updates on the project. SibongileM just straight-up asked, “when is beauty in black coming back?”. Meanwhile, Nala begged, “How far are you with more seasons ‘Beauty in Black’? The suspense is unbearable 😭.” He has lots on his plates, and his followers conscientiously keep track of them all.
There is always that brutally honest person to ruin a good conversation. Ne dropped the mic with, “Another black trauma movie.” Because, really? That got conversations started, while Pinkkceee and lukkcharmsss went on with, “nothing but trauma w this man😂” and “literally!!! he needs to be stopped.” Further, Crime_Skillz said, “Bring me on board let me write ✍🏾 some powerful Biblical Stories with Black People playing the leading roles… Enough with the black woman struggling to make ends meet narrative.”
Perry’s movies have always caused a stir on its own; you know, either you hate them or you like them, but Perry is just perfect at getting a response out of people. And now, with STRAW coming, that definitely shall not begin. Be it for hype or skepticism or utter demands for a different narrative; one thing is clear- Tyler Perry’s audience is loud and invested.
