October 29, 2025 – RAONTECH, a developer of advanced microdisplay technologies, has recently announced the launch of its ‘P13’ 0.13-inch LCoS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) display module.
According to RAONTECH, the P13’s most significant feature is its “extreme miniaturization,” with the device designed to overcome the size and power limitations of existing microdisplays, enabling smaller and more efficient smart glasses.
At just 6.25 mm x 4.65 mm, the company stated that the P13 is approximately 60% smaller than its previous solutions with similar resolution, with the technology enabling ultra-compact light engines (less than 1 cubic centimeter in size). As such, a completed light engine module can be fully embedded within the temple (arm) of smart glasses, according to RAONTECH.
Built on 3µm pixel technology, the P13 delivers an 800×800 resolution and provides more than twice the pixel density of LEDoS displays of similar size, which the company stated allows for ultra-high-density, precision imagery essential for AR applications.
The launch of the P13 also broadens RAONTECH’s full-color display portfolio, building on the company’s earlier work with its P18 LEDoS panel. RAONTECH noted that while many LEDoS systems require complex optical architectures using three separate panels and an X-Cube, the P13’s single-panel design enables high-quality color reproduction within a compact optical system.
RAONTECH stated that the P13 has been designed to address the industry’s need for smaller, simpler, and more powerful AR systems, offering higher pixel density, full-color performance, and an ultra-compact form.
Finally, RAONTECH added that global customers are already developing next-generation light engines and AR glasses that incorporate the P13, with prototype devices expected to be showcased at major international exhibitions, including CES 2026.
