Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion introduces so many new features and changes that both mech veterans and newcomers can benefit from a beginner’s guide. The fact that it is now an open-world game alone makes a comprehensive guide worthwhile.
In this post, I share some of the secrets and beginner’s tips I wish someone had told me before I spent nearly 30 hours playing the game. If you want to get the most out of Marvelous and First Studio’s mech simulator, you’ll want to apply these tips to your first playthrough in Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion.
Start Beacon Hunting Early
They Can Lead to Amazing Loot
Broken Beacons are unique gadgets that reveal the approximate location of valuable grave goods. By repairing a Broken Beacon in the Factory, you can get clues about the location of a corpse, which often contains rare equipment.
A Repaired Beacon displays an inset map, a cut-out section of the overworld map, showing where to find the hidden treasure. Initially, the image is noisy, and you need to guess its location by comparing it to the overworld map—like a geo-guessing game. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
By paying a set number of Scraps to Civetta, the NPC in charge of Base Upgrades, you can remove the noise from Repaired Beacons. Just purchase the “Factory: Unlock Restoration” upgrade. This lets you see the signals clearly and locate hidden loot much faster.
Keep these notes in mind:
- Before searching for a Repaired Beacon, set it as the “Exploration Area” in the Factory. Otherwise, it won’t work.
- When you reach the Beacon’s Exploration Area, your mini-map will start glowing and emitting signals.
- The closer you are to the loot, the more frequently it pulses.
- Your scanner can reveal the corpse’s exact location. Look for an arm sticking out of the ground.
Focus on Feature-Unlocking Side Quests
Access Interesting Bits of Gameplay Early
Early in the game, you’ll encounter a long list of side quests you can complete at your own pace. These usually provide extra credit and introduce minor lore elements. However, it’s best to prioritize the few that unlock key game features.
For example, one side quest unlocks the trading card mini-game, Overbullet. This lets you build unique decks and challenge NPCs with cards found in the overworld. Many of these cards are inspired by Titanic Scion‘s characters and equipment, making them fun to collect.
Don’t Worry About Fusions’ Side Effects
There’s a Workaround for Hiding Mutations
In Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion, you’re introduced to the Fusion mechanic, the game’s version of a customizable skill tree. The catch is that each time you use the Fusion device to create new skills, your body mutates, making you look like an Immortal—the strange creatures inhabiting the world. This likely encourages players to be more careful and selective with their choices.
There is a workaround for those who want to experiment with Fusions without looking like an Immortal. Civetta, the NPC who sells Base Upgrades, offers a product called “Laboratory: Add Special Outer Suit.” When you unlock and wear this suit, your mutations are hidden, but you still retain the effects of your Fusion skills. The only downside is that you’ll have to stick with this default suit and may not be able to show off other outfits in your arsenal.
You can also pay the Laboratory technician to remove your mutations. However, this often costs a huge amount of credits, especially if your body has gone through multiple mutation phases. Also, using this method to remove mutations will make you lose all your crafted skills.
Farm Scraps as Soon as You Reach the Forest Biome
Scrap Is an Essential Progression Currency
Scraps are needed to purchase Base Upgrades from Civetta, and the earlier you start farming them, the better. One of the best ways to farm Scraps is by exploring the Forest biome, which unlocks at a certain point in Titanic Scion‘s campaign. This region is full of Scrap ores. All you need to do is find a farming route—there are plenty of them—and keep collecting Scraps.

Use Additional Boosters as Your Auxiliary Piece
They Can Greatly Reduce Femto Consumption
An Additional Booster works like Femto, acting as a speed boost for sprinting and flying. The key difference is that it consumes Stamina, which replenishes much faster than Femto. It also turns your sprinting into a boosted slide, which is much faster than regular or Femto-powered running.
One of the best Additional Booster auxiliaries is the Atlanta 2, which is fairly easy to find in the overworld. It replaces your loadout’s projectile slot and can be used indefinitely, as long as your Stamina gauge is full.
Search the Overworld for Big Bad Bosses
There Are Plenty of Optional Boss Enemies Out There
Besides the main story boss fights, Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion has many optional bosses scattered across the world, including the legendary Gunfort from the previous game. Finding them can be tricky because they don’t appear on the map unless you’ve spotted them or are close to their location. That said, there’s a simple trick to locate optional bosses faster.
- Open the overworld map and go to the “Icon Filter” tab.
- Disable all filters except for “Enemy (Boss),” “Fast Travel,” and “Pins.”
- Teleport to different parts of the map and keep checking your overworld map.
- With all other filters off, Enemy (Boss) tags are easy to spot.
- Pin these locations and return later to fight the discovered bosses when you’re ready.
Most Boss Enemies are found in large, open areas, so you can often guess their locations by analyzing the overworld map. If you spot a big, empty-looking area, that’s likely where a boss fight awaits.
Farm Credits at the Coliseum
You Can Earn 17,000 Credits Per Minute
Money is essential for buying new armor and weapons in Titanic Scion. Hunting Immortals and Neun members isn’t the most profitable job, but there’s a simple and reliable method to farm money, yielding up to 17,000 credits per minute.
First, unlock the Coliseum, a battle simulation where you fight other mechs for glory and money. Each win ranks you up, and there are 30 opponents to defeat to become the champion. Aim to beat them all as soon as possible. Next, repeat the match against the previous champion, called “King.” Each victory rewards you with 17,000 credits. The good news is that King is fairly easy to beat once you unlock Heavy Armor. Start the match, summon your Heavy Armor, and defeat the King in under a minute. Repeat this process to earn 17,000 credits per minute with no strings attached.
Your Heavy Armor will be fully charged and ready each time you enter a Coliseum match. There’s no cooldown between matches, making this money-farming method completely seamless.
Get an Armor Cuirass with Particle Armament
They Make You Look as Cool as It Gets
Particle Armament adds an extra function to armor that looks impressive mid-battle. When activated, the Particle Armaments of the Assault-type armor sets form turrets that automatically target and shoot nearby enemies. On Wing-type sets, they can also act as flight speed boosters, which is great for exploration.
The damage and speed boost from Particle Armaments aren’t particularly strong. However, the animations make Titanic Scion‘s combat and free-roaming much more engaging. If your goal is the strongest armor in the game, you’ll likely want to focus on models with higher VP and Femto capacity, though.
Exploit Weapon and Armor Attachments
Attachments Are Key to Becoming a Beast
You’ll find many different attachments while exploring, looting chests, or investigating corpses. These items aren’t automatically equipped with your weapons or armor; they go into your inventory, and you need to decide how to use them in your loadouts. It’s important to start using weapon and armor attachments early. Otherwise, you’ll struggle to progress and scale your loadout as enemies grow stronger.
To equip attachments, go to your Hangar, select a weapon or piece of armor, and press X or R if you’re using a keyboard. This opens the Attachment Customization menu, where you can choose which items to equip to enhance your loadout. Each item can have up to three attachments. Not all slots may be available initially. You might need to purchase the “Factory: Add New Function” upgrade from Civetta and then expand each loadout item’s attachment slots by paying credits.
If your loadout includes Memory-consuming items, prioritize enhancing them with “Memory Capacity Reduction” attachments. Otherwise, Memory overload will limit your armor set’s speed.
Loot the Reclaimers Colony in the Forest
You’ll Get Way More Items Than You Need
The Western Colony in the Forest biome is the most lucrative spot for collectibles: blueprints, throwables, decals, upgrade materials, and power-ups. If you want to save money on these items, keep visiting the Western Colony.
Fun fact: some buildings in this area are destructible. If your scanner detects a building, you can destroy it. Demolishing these structures makes exploring the Western Colony easier, as the area is usually packed with closely connected buildings that hinder flying and sprinting.
