HoYoVerse started talking about the 5.8 Genshin Impact update, and it included confirmation that there will be an option to skip time to take on a quest and videos that show off characters’ talents in action. Both features will be immediately available after the update.
In Genshin Impact, there will sometimes be a quest in a storyline that will involve returning at a specific day or time to take part, and we would need to go into the options to skip to the correct moment and return. After the 5.8 update, there will be an option to do this from the quest itself. The example gif showed a “Past and Future” quest that would require someone to “wait until nighttime (18:00 – 22:00)” to continue. Once the new version appears, it will be possible to immediately skip to that time within the quest without going into the schedule. It’s a time-saving measure.
However, this doesn’t address the other issue that can come up with Genshin Impact quests. If a character is “busy” due to a conflict with another mission, you can’t take on the new one until that is finished.
As for the Genshin Impact character talent videos, those will appear in multiple areas. If you go to Test Run or Talent Demo pages, the Talents section will include a brief video showing the talent in-action instead of the character art like before. This will be included alongside the existing explanations.
Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices, and the 5.8 update will arrive on July 30, 2025.
