Nine years after Netflix’s debut, the horror-comedy film The Babysitter remains one of the biggest hits. What began as a Black List script by Brian Duffield became a cult fav after Netflix acquired its distribution rights. It was released on 13th October 2017 on Netflix. Renewal Status of The Babysitter 3

What we know as of now is that the official distribution platform for the film, i.e., Netflix, has never officially announced the third sequel for the film. However, the production company and the cast members have shown their interest in getting the next continuation.

During the Family Switch promotion in 2023, McG said the renewal conversation is ongoing. He highlighted how the first movie gave a huge introduction to Samara Weaving in front of a wider audience, and the second movie gave a career boost to Jenna Ortega just before the release of the Wednesday series. He said that if Netflix renews the franchise for the third part, it can bring a breakout performer of similar caliber. McG told podcasters that the story was made for three parts and only the greenlight from the official streaming network can make the third sequel.
