After crowning Team Immune and Flowstate as champions, Omeda Studios has unveiled details for the upcoming Predecessor 1.7 update.
The highlight will be the addition of the Agora map from the original cancelled title Paragon, which will be available for a limited time with an upgrade to Unreal Engine 5.

Players will be able to access the map through the Legacy Mode; however, it’s important to keep in mind that this will be their final chance to play on Agora.
“Paragon has undoubtedly played a special role in our story and we’re thrilled to be able to revisit the original map for one final time before we embark on this exciting new chapter for Predecessor.
“Our community and playerbase is so important to us and I can’t wait to join them on the battlefield in Agora for one last time!” said Omeda Studios CEO Robbie Singh.
Moreover, the update will also introduce an original hero named Renna, a mid-laner featuring the following abilities:
- Echoes of the Damned (Passive): Renna grows stronger throughout battle by collecting essence from dead enemies. This passive also allows her to float mid-air during matches
- Mortal Coil (Primary): Drains enemies while healing Renna and this ability scales with her passive
- Stupor (Secondary): Launches Renna into the air to throw an explosive orb, dealing damage and helping her escape the enemies
- Abyssal Rift (Ultimate): Fires multiple projectiles at enemies, scaling in duration to deliver massive damage
Renna’s addition to Predecessor is the first step taken by the developers with a goal to establish a clear distinction from Paragon.

Lastly, the 1.7 update will also bring new skins and gameplay fixes and is scheduled to go live on July 22nd at 12 PM BST / 1 PM CEST / 4 AM PT.
Impact On The Esports Scene
While it’s still unknown when Renna will be enabled in Predecessor tournaments, her arrival could prove valuable in team compositions, especially with her augments offering utility, sustainability and even a support option.
Also, her damage and healing stats will be crucial in deciding her fate in the meta as a mid-laner. That said, Predecessor’s esports scene is pretty fresh, so fans can expect to see interesting compositions around her.
