Derek’s love of games came at an early age when his parents first brought home the Nintendo Entertainment System. From then on, countless nights were spent hunting ducks, stomping turtles, exploring far off planets, and combing through dungeons with a trusty sword and shield. Originally growing up exclusively with Nintendo products, Derek’s perspective grew to include other platforms ranging from Sony, to Microsoft, the PC, and more. As his views and opinions grew, so did the desire to connect with other players and video game fans. In 2011, his writing adventure began on his personal blog, eventually joining up with the Game Rant crew in 2015. He currently covers everything from features and guides, to the latest breaking video game news.
Battlefield 6 makes a fan-requested change to how rerolled challenges work, allowing fans to avoid REDSec Battle Royale-specific ones if they want. The change appears to be an effort to solve some of the negativity regarding the RedSec Battle Royale mode being integrated into the core Battlefield 6 experience.
The arrival of Battlefield 6‘s RedSec has largely been positive, as fans discover a slightly different take on the Battle Royale formula thanks to a massive map and large-scale destruction. However, it hasn’t always been a smooth ride, as Battlefield 6 faced review bombing from disgruntled fans over how integrated the game mode has become into the core game. In an effort to address some of these concerns, Battlefield Studios has made a highly requested change.
Battlefield 6 Gives Players More Control Over Their Challenges
Through the Battlefield Comms social media account, the team announced an adjustment to how Battlefield 6‘s reroll works for the daily challenges. Essentially, players now have a little more control over what can appear, as Battlefield 6 multiplayer fans that reroll will no longer receive a challenge that can only be completed in RedSec. The same change has been applied to Battlefield RedSec players to prevent multiplayer-only challenges from being rerolled.
Reaction to the news has been positive, with many praising the quick response time from developers. However, it hasn’t stopped some from using that high visibility to highlight other issues currently impacting the game. The current issues with weapon dispersion and bloom in Battlefield 6 were a popular response from many.
While the Battlefield 6 launch has been a major success for EA, it hasn’t always gone without some fan frustrations. Players have been very vocal about the things they don’t like, from off-putting character skins, weapon bloom issues, to missing rewards on day one. Thankfully, the development team has been quick to respond in many cases, releasing updates as well as server-side adjustments on the fly.
