Naturally, Eiichiro Oda is involving all the big-name characters in the story as a means to increase the overall stakes. For some fans, it’s still surreal to see that the story has progressed so far that the end of One Piece is actually believable. Until a few years ago, fans often joked that they wouldn’t get to see the conclusion of Eiichiro Oda’s magnum opus.
However, the author is picking up the pace to deliver what would be the biggest ending to any shonen manga. Since there are already so many big names in the story, it’s hard to pay attention to each one of them. However, certain characters like Blackbeard demand attention. Blackbeard Is An Evil Genius With A Desire To Rule The World
Blackbeard is an ambitious man whose desire is to take over the world and become its ruler, something that his father, Davy D. Xebec, failed to do. Blackbeard is knowledgeable about the past, so he is aware of what happened to Xebec and to the rest of the Davy clan. He also knows about Davy D. Jones, his ancestor who used to rule the world before Nerona Imu took over. Due to these reasons, Blackbeard is extremely keen on reclaiming what his clan lost. At the same time, he is extremely cautious, as he doesn’t want to repeat the same mistakes as his father.

Blackbeard meticulously plans his next move, and he takes action only when he is satisfied with the odds. For instance, he chose to run away from Admiral Akainu because he thought it would be a waste of his time and effort. At first glance, it may seem rather bizarre, but once you remember that she possesses the Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Kyubi no Kitsune, everything makes sense. The mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit gives the user the ability to transform into any person that they touch. Since Devon touched Jaygarcia Saturn, she now holds the ability to morph into the five elders at will. Before leaving the island, Van Auger and Katarina Devon met Caribou. Their initial reaction was to get rid of the groveling individual, but they stopped after he promised to tell Blackbeard several secrets. They called their captain, who was bemused and asked them to bring him along. This could be a major turning point in the story, as Caribou knows about Pluton and Poseidon.

So far, the only person who has shown any kind of interest in stopping Blackbeard is none other than Shanks. The red-haired pirate has already stopped Blackbeard once in Marineford, and since then, he has explicitly stated his desire to stop his fellow Emperor from wreaking havoc. As previously stated, the story is in its final stretch, so a confrontation between the two Emperors is highly likely. Many fans believe that Shanks will meet his end at the hands of Blackbeard, as it will give Luffy one more reason to go after Blackbeard. The young pirate already bears a grudge against Blackbeard, as he was responsible for capturing Portgas D. Ace and handing him over to the Marines, which resulted in his death.
In reality, there is no real need for Shanks to die, especially when Luffy has to fight Blackbeard anyway. But there is no denying that the red-haired Emperor’s death will add to the overall stakes. One thing that fans must also remember is that Eiichiro Oda does not have a habit of killing characters unless it is absolutely necessary to advance the plot or to close off any loose ends. Regardless of what happens between Blackbeard and Shanks, there is no denying that the final stretch of arcs in One Piece will be among the very best in manga history.
