Sephiroth is the first villain to join the roster of Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy, and the FFVII character is also the first limited time unit to be available. He first shows up today and can be earned as a Normal Season reward by playing. However, we only can get him until June 29, 2026, as it will be impossible to earn or get him until June 29, 2026. In addition to being one of the most well-known Final Fantasy antagonists, he’s been a staple in this spin-off series since it debuted.
The character preview for Sephiroth is already live. While he does carry his Masamune sword, he’s a Ranged unit who is best when dealing Fire damage. His held ability is Scintilla, which allows him to counter. His unique abilities are R Hell’s Gate, SR Oblivion, UR Octaslash, and UR Super Nova. Two URs that will show up for everyone that will appear for a limited time are Aerith’s Planet’s Protection and Tifa’s Falling Crane.

Square Enix also shared a roadmap for Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy characters. One more character will appear in June 2026, alongside a new boss and stage, and that will be a person from FFX. The July 2026 addition will hail from FFVI. The August 2026 update adds a FFV character, boss, and stage. If these are additional villains, based on past Dissidia games the additions could be Jecht, Kefka, and Exdeath.
