1win swept Spirit 2-0 in the ESL Pro League 24 group-stage decider, reaching the playoffs with a 3-1 record and springing one of the tournament’s notable surprises.
1win take the group-stage decider
The series opened on Cache, where 1win claimed a 13-5 win, before closing out the sweep with a 13-9 victory on Anubis. The result sent the teams to different positions in the group standings, with 1win advancing and Spirit left to contest the 2-2 bracket.
Nafany, Ax1le, Belchonokk, Artfr0st and Fame represented 1win, coached by Groove. Spirit fielded Donk, Sh1ro, Tn1r, Magixx and Zont1x, with Hally as coach.
The two-map result gave 1win the decisive edge in a format where each group-stage series can shape a team’s route through the event. ESL Pro League is one of the established competitions in the Counter-Strike tournament calendar, bringing together teams competing for results, prize money and progression through the season.
| Map | Result |

Playoff place secured as Spirit drops to 2-2
The 3-1 record secured 1win’s place in the ESL Pro League 24 playoffs. Spirit, meanwhile, fell into the 2-2 bracket, where it will have another group-stage match to determine its tournament fate.
The source report said Spirit’s opponent in that deciding match would be announced later. No next opponent was confirmed in the report, leaving the team’s route forward dependent on the subsequent group-stage schedule.
For 1win, making the playoffs represents a clear competitive step at a tournament featuring 16 teams. The reported result also improves the team’s chances in the broader race for Major qualification, though the available match report does not specify a ranking change, qualification threshold or guaranteed invitation.
A significant result in a $1m event
ESL Pro League 24 runs from 3 to 11 October, with 16 participants competing for a $1m prize pool. A playoff berth gives 1win a chance to extend its run at a major event, while the group-stage loss leaves Spirit needing to respond in its next match.
Major qualification carries weight beyond a single tournament result: it affects teams’ access to Counter-Strike’s most prominent championship events and the competitive opportunities those events create. The history of Counter-Strike Major champions reflects the stature attached to reaching the game’s top stage, while the wider CS2 Major qualification picture provides context for the field teams are trying to join.
The immediate priority for 1win is to carry its group-stage form into the playoffs. Spirit’s next group match will decide whether it can recover from the 2-0 defeat and keep its ESL Pro League campaign alive.
