8 Strongest Demon Slayer Characters (Right Now)

8 Strongest Demon Slayer Characters (Right Now)

Power in Demon Slayer has always been depicted as something that is gained with training, well, with the sole exception of a few. This power gap between characters becomes even clearer during the Infinity Castle arc. Characters that were once only shown in small glimpses and hyped for years are finally allowed to gain the spotlight and show off their true forms, and there are others, despite the colossal hype, who are only just getting started to demonstrate their potential. This list is limited to on-screen strength illustrated in Infinity Castle Part 1.

Various Hashira, such as Sanemi Shinazugawa, Obanai Iguro, and Mitsuri Kanroji, are firmly established as incredibly strong and probably stronger than many of the heroes by this time. Nevertheless, the arc is not yet ready to show the extent of their abilities, so they cannot be deemed above the characters that have already achieved indisputable results. Similarly, characters like Sanemi and Kokushibo are notoriously known to be horrifyingly powerful, yet the Infinity Castle arc has barely explored the full potential of the two. Having that in mind, these rankings are what have been demonstrated rather than what is promised.

    Demon SLayer, Nezuko, Gyutaro, Rui

The Strongest Demons In Demon Slayer

There are several powerful demons present in the Demon Slayer anime. These characters are the most dangerous.

    8

    Zenitsu Agatsuma

    Zenitsu

Zenitsu’s character development can be considered the epitome of how the show develops characters through hardship. The Infinity Castle arc finally gets rid of the version of himself that had to be supported by fear or subconscious instinct. His presence is more thundering, more concentrated, and much more deadly than ever. The arc presents him as a person who no longer hesitates when it is necessary, most of all with shocking confidence.

What is impressive about Zenitsu here is not being dominant, but rather being precise and resolute, as he only has one goal and that was to defeat Kaigaku. The way he behaves is a sign of control, clarity, and composure which has never been experienced before. Although a number of Hashira obviously surpass him in pure fighting skill, Zenitsu’s growth in the film demonstrates that he is no longer a liability or an occasional loose cannon. He gains this position by proving to be a true fighter in the harshest situations the show has ever brought.

    7

    Tanjiro Kamado

    Tanjiro_accessing_the_Transparent_World_CH152-1

The power Tanjiro possesses in the arc of the Infinity Castle is apparent as soon as fans see his first fight with Akaza, even the Demon who called him weak and not worthy of anything at all was surprised by his strength and how much Tanjiro had grown since they last met. His actions, responses, and decision-making are instinctual, as though fighting has become second nature. The film depicts him as a person who could keep up in situations when the majority of the fighters could not even react, even without controlling the battlefield directly.

Nonetheless, Tanjiro is evidently not ready yet to be at the same level as many of the Hashira, perhaps even above, as he’s the only one alive in the series so far that has unlocked the Transparent World. Although characters like Obanai or Mitsuri remain much more sophisticated and threatening in general, they have yet to show their true potential. His position indicates that he is a strong fighter at the current moment, though his real ceiling can be much higher.

    6

    Muichiro Tokito

    Muichiro Tokito in Demon Slayer

We hardly saw Muichiro in action in the movie, but his feats have already been shown in the series thus far. The only Hashira to defeat an upper moon all by himself is as high of a praise as any demon slayer can get, the whole reason why he is considered to be a prodigy within the Hashira. Fans can see his calm and collective fighting style once again as he teams up with his master Gyomei, and swiftly cuts through all the demons that were unfortunate enough to cross their paths.

Most interestingly is the natural way in which Muichiro manages to deal with threats that are very intimidating. He never feels threatened or outwitted, even in a time of danger. Although his screen time is still too low for how many fans love him and want to see more of him, the demonstrations provided solidly prove that he is stronger than the majority of Demon Slayers who are older and more experienced.

    5

    Giyu Tomioka

demon slayer infinity castle success leads to new solo leveling movie giyu

It can safely be said that the whole essence of Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Part 1 is centered around Giyu, the star of the show. Fans already knew Giyu was strong, but this strong? His gestures are accurate, disciplined, and without wastage, and this is an indication of years of experience at the top. Giyu was already fighting Akaza toe-to-toe, albeit Akaza initially not taking the fight seriously, but once Giyu knew the stakes of the fight and unlocked his demon slayer mark, the only weakness Giyu had was being human.

Survival and consistency are used as signs of the power of Giyu as opposed to flashier fighters. He stands on his feet when all others are dropping; his defensive breathing style is completely accurate to his composure. Although he is not taken to be the most powerful Hashira, his performance puts him in a comfortable position between the rising prodigies such as Tanjiro and Muichiro and makes him a stable member of the elite.

Demon Slayer: Every Known Member Of The Twelve Kizuki, Ranked By Their Blood Demon Arts

Demon Slayer’s Twelve Kizuki are incredibly powerful foes, and their Blood Demon Arts play a big role in that. Here’s how their abilities rank.

    4

    Doma — Upper Rank Two

    demon-slayer-infinity-castle-doma.jpg
    Demon-Slayer-Infinity-Castle-Doma

Although he is ranked at Upper Moon Two, the Infinity Castle arc has not brought out the full power in him yet. What is demonstrated, however, is very menacing and eerie, and his backstory only adds to that, as fans get to know Doma did not become a demon to save himself but to save others by devouring them, talk about being twisted to the core. The very feeling of his presence is suffocating, and his behavior indicates some degree of control and wickedness that is much more than brute power.

The hint in the arc is much as to the reason why Doma rose to the ranks so fast. His discerning feeding habits and twisted mind are the signs of enormous unexploited potential. Nevertheless, with the achievements only presented to date, Doma has not proven to be on the same level as his higher-ranking counterparts.

    3

    Akaza — Upper Rank Three

Akaza from infinity castle arc attacking tanjiro

The power of Akaza in the arc of Infinity Castle is full-bodied and savagely evident. Each movement has a purpose, and every confrontation strengthens his position as one of the most threatening creatures of the entire series. The power of Akaza is real and subject to continuous testing as opposed to those of others who do not have boundaries.

What raises Akaza is the degree to which he goes to the extent of convincing elite opponents. His stamina, flexibility, and unwillingness to give up on fights that seem insurmountable. The arc introduces him as a demon whose power has been perfected in the endless battle and the disappointment of not being able to protect his loved ones, causing him to grow stronger and stronger, which is the reason he is placed so high, even among monsters.

Demon Slayer: Every Member Of The Hashira, Ranked In Terms Of Strength

The Hashira are humanity’s last line of defense against demons. Here’s how every single one of them ranks based on their strength.

    2

    Gyomei Himejima

    Gyomei-Himejima-Stone-Hashira-Featured (1)

The role of Gyomei in the arc of the Infinity Castle can only be described as causing awe. Each of these appearances strengthens the thought that he lives on another level from most Hashira. His actions are not light; his blows seem to be devastating, and his calmness is never lost, and this is only the tip of the iceberg. With only one actual scene so far against Muzan, fans can already tell he is the strongest Hashira alive at this point.

His brave toe-to-toe battle with Muzan, although Muzan was weakened, is an accomplishment to be able to survive and play a significant role in such a battle, something that no other Hashira can do on the same level. His position in the ranking of Gyomei indicates strength and not reputation; the strongest human fighter of the current generation.

    1

    Muzan Kibutsuji

    Muzan Kibutsuji in Demon Slayer

Even when he does not even show a fraction of his strength in full, Muzan has been the undisputed pinnacle of power. The Infinity Castle arc depicts him as the big bad villain who can control the battlefield only by his appearance. Each interaction confirms the notion that it is not enough to beat him using power, but there needs to be sacrifices made on a scale that is impossible to consider.

The frightening aspect of Muzan is that very little has been revealed as compared to the potential that is implied. He also directs the struggle, pushing the mightiest of demon slayers to their extremes even in his weakened condition. Until his full strength can be displayed, Muzan is at the top not due to hype, but because there are no other competitors in the same field who can even match what has already been shown.
