Since ages, everyone has been recognizing Cruise as an action king. Another scary clip showing Cruise precariously perched on a death-defying stunt (no stunt double) was aired by the actor to tease the upcoming Mission Impossible film. It was captioned with “Tom Cruise risking his life for our entertainment” and ended with a goat emoji (🐐), and people went crazy over it.

An almost midair-sided shot of a practical stunt of Cruise‘s. The specific action it pertains to is not shown, but Cruise would rarely ever use stunt doubles, so we are assuming crazy! This is the same guy that really hung off the side of an airplane, climbed the Burj Khalifa, and did HALO jumps-from-25,000 feet-really!
“I saw it yesterday in IMAX. Thrilling ride from start to finish with funny and emotional moments. Kudos to everyone on the team!” said one excited fan. One could rationally continue, because, after Cruise, it’s his pledge to practical effects and real stunts that make these Mission Impossible movies stand out from the lot of action flicks.
Another wrote, “Incredible, no stuntman,” followed by a string of fire emojis; that’s exactly what’s unique about Cruise‘s performances: at an age when most would dial things back, Cruise continues to push the limits. One fan joked, “Every day in this guy’s life is such a journey,” a nod to the fact that Cruise‘s work ethic in real life is almost as intense as that shown in his films.
The comments were also testimony to Cruise‘s international outreach as an actor. One of the Brazilians said, Was I the only one getting tense during this one? Meanwhile, a Spanish-speaking user went with El rey (“The King”) and tagged a friend.
YouTube creator Sheahannahh’s ongoing project of reviewing every Cruise movie, “It’s so interesting to see his very first role!,” just goes to show you how long Cruise has been working since that breakout in Risky Business all those years ago to now leading massive action franchises some four decades later.
The most impressive thing is not even that he performs the stunts but that he makes them look so effortless. “He is insanely fabulous,” one fan gushed, while another simply called him “the real GOAT.” In a time when closer and closer CGI and stunt doubles are taking the place of classic action stars, Cruise‘s old-fashioned style is in dire need of a revival.

And Mission Impossible will, in no way, die down in the near future. The new guy wants to keep outdoing every installment with his increasing real-life danger and his more perilous practical stunts. This clip is barely the teaser of what will be one hell of a white-knuckle ride once the film hits theaters. So the only question must be: just what insane stunt will Tom Cruise do next? Whatever it will be will be done for real by the man himself.
