Sung Il-Hwan Will Get The Opportunity To Show Off His Powers
Sung Il-Hwan appeared in the first season of the anime, but he did not get involved in the story until the next season. In Season 2, Sung Il-Hwan was taken to the Hunter Association for questioning. They believed that he was a magical beast, so they wanted to interrogate him. Due to the language barrier, they brought in Hwang Dongsoo to help with the process.
However, things went south when Dongsook expressed his desire to murder Sung Jinwoo. This made Il-Hwan furious, and he pulverized him in seconds. The sheer power of the attack resulted in the building being destroyed. This was the first instance where Sung Il-Hwan displayed his powers. Since he was able to beat an S-rank Hunter effortlessly, it’s obvious that he is not an ordinary person. But the fight didn’t last long enough for fans to see what kind of powers he could use.
Solo Leveling Season 3 Might Showcase Sung Il-Hwan’s Powers
- His physical abilities are far superior to National Level Hunters
- He could fight Monarchs
There is no doubt that Solo Leveling Season 3 is going to be outstanding. The anime will raise the curtain on many mysteries in the anime, including Sung Il-Hwan’s powers. If Solo Leveling Season 3 adapts the Monarchs War Arc, there is every chance that fans will get to see Sung Il-Hwan’s true power.
In the arc, Sung Il-Hwan faces off against two Monarchs, who are determined to kill Jinwoo. The Rulers assigned him the task of protecting Jinwoo, so Il-Hwan had to fight the Monarchs. He also wanted to protect his son from harm, which is why he went all out in the fight. It is worth mentioning that the fight between Sung Il-Hwan and the Monarchs happened after one of them had decimated Thomas Andre, one of the National Level Hunters. Not only was Il-Hwan able to stand his ground, but he was also able to overwhelm two Monarchs for a short period of time. This feat alone puts him above the likes of National Level Hunters and even some Monarchs.
It is possible that Il-Hwan would have killed the Beast Monarch if it were a 1v1. Fighting two Monarchs at the same time was a strenuous task, and eventually, Sung Il-Hwan’s body began to give out. Fortunately, Sung Jinwoo regained his consciousness in the nick of time, which allowed Il-Hwan to retreat to a safe place.
Will Jinwoo Meet His Father In Solo Leveling Season 3?
Jinwoo Will Be Reunited With Il-Hwan
Sung Jinwoo will likely meet his father in the next season of the anime. Viewers will definitely be excited to see how Jinwoo will react to seeing his father after such a long time. It’s possible that the hero resents his father for being away from his family for such a long period of time. But he might let go of the hatred once Sung Il-Hwan reveals why he was away for so long.
After being trapped inside the dungeon, Il-Hwan was rescued by the Rulers, who offered him the chance to survive. In exchange, they asked for his loyalty. Since Il-Hwan didn’t have any other choice, he accepted the offer. Afterward, the Rulers assigned him to kill the new Shadow Monarch. He accepted the job, not knowing that his son was the target. After learning the truth, Il-Hwan refused to murder his son. Fortunately, the Rulers also changed their minds and instead ordered him to protect Jinwoo.
I could not fulfill that responsibility. —Sung Il-Hwan
The upcoming season will also include the death of Jinwoo’s father. Sung Il-Hwan used up too much energy in the fight against the Monarchs, leaving his body in a terrible state. Seeing his father die in front of his eyes will certainly be an emotional moment for Sung Jinwoo.
