Stellar Blade developer SHIFT UP has announced that it has fully acquired studio UNBOUND, the studio founded by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami. UNBOUND is currently developing original PC and console IPs targeting the global market. Through the acquisition, SHIFT UP has integrated UNBOUND’s development team and expanded its console and PC pipeline. The company will also directly handle the publishing of UNBOUND’s upcoming titles and gradually build its own global service capabilities. A video announcing the acquisition was also released.
SHIFT UP CEO Hyung-Tae Kim commented on the acquisition in a press release:

This acquisition will serve as an opportunity to deliver the best gaming experience to users worldwide and further solidify SHIFT UP’s global development competitiveness.”
UNBOUND CEO Shinji Mikami added:
