The Pokemon franchise’s upcoming special Pokemon Presents showcase, scheduled for July 22, will reportedly be on the longer side, according to a recent reveal by a historically reliable leaker. There should be plenty of Pokemon content to cover, and while fans are most excited for more reveals from Pokemon Legends: Z-A, the presentation will undoubtedly show off much more than just that.
Held annually on February 27 to commemorate the Japanese launch anniversary of Pokemon Red and Green in 1996, the series often holds special presentations outside that timeframe to keep players updated on the latest in Pokemon news. The first Pokemon Presents showcase was actually held in January 2020, replacing the Pokemon Direct presentation style that had been ongoing since 2013.

July 22 Is Going to Be a Big Day For Pokemon Fans
The Pokemon Company announces an exciting new event for trainers to mark in their calendars on July 22, ahead of Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s release.
According to CentroLeaks, this month’s Pokemon Presents will run for 24 minutes, which would place its length among the longest presentations in the history of the series. The shows typically run between 15 and 24 minutes, and the July presentation falling on the longer side of that list should indicate that a large info dump is incoming, potentially covering lots of different games. Nothing concrete has been revealed about what the contents of the upcoming showcase will be, but the July Pokemon Presents was announced in May, whereas the franchise’s showcases are normally only revealed a couple of weeks at most before they stream. With the hype built around this particular showcase, many fans have built up expectations for some big reveals.
July’s Pokemon Presents Could Be One of the Biggest Ever
The game almost all fans are looking forward to learning about is Pokemon Legends: Z-A, the follow-up to 2022’s action-RPG spin-off Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Set for arrival on October 16, the game will have players revisit the northern France-inspired Kalos region first introduced in Pokemon X and Y. This region was the birthplace of the popular mega evolution mechanic, which is also going to be a big part of the upcoming game, with 26 new mega evolutions promised. Several mega evolutions for Pokemon Legends: Z-A have leaked already, including Feraligatr, Meganium, Clefable, and Barbaracle, and fans are eager to get their confirmation and find out which other Pokemon will be getting an upgrade.
However, these showcases tend to feature previews for several games, DLCs, and updates, so fans should expect the Legends: Z-A content to be saved for last. Along with probable obligatory updates for mobile-exclusive games like Pokemon GO and Pokemon Sleep preceding those reveals, some fans’ Pokemon Presents wish lists include reveals for Pokemon Champions, a strategy game for Switch and mobile that was announced in February and hasn’t yet received a release date. Since this November will mark three years since the start of Gen 9, the same length of time between the releases of Pokemon Sword and Shield and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, some fans are holding out slim hope for the reveal of the next mainline Pokemon game.
