August 18, 2025 – HTC has announced its new wearable AI glasses, with the launch of VIVE Eagle, which combine music playback, voice assistance, photography, videography, and real-time translation into a lightweight frame. The device will initially launch in Taiwan through partnerships with Taiwan Mobile and 2020EYEhaus.

What features do the VIVE Eagle glasses have?
According to HTC, VIVE Eagle weighs under 49 grams and incorporates AI computing and voice interaction into a slim frame. The glasses include adjustable nose pads, contoured temples, and ZEISS sun lenses with UV protection. The device’s open-ear audio design features acoustic drivers and virtual bass enhancement, providing spatial audio while reducing leakage and allowing the wearer to remain aware of their surroundings.
The glasses are equipped with a 12MP ultra-wide camera and HTC’s VIVE AI voice assistant, which supports platforms such as OpenAI GPT and Google Gemini. Users can capture photos hands-free, set reminders, take notes, and get recommendations through voice commands.
What languages can VIVE Eagle translate?
VIVE Eagle supports real-time translation in 13 languages, including Arabic, Traditional Chinese, English, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish, Korean, Thai, and Turkish. Translation works by capturing text with the camera and delivering spoken output directly from the glasses.
How long does the VIVE Eagle battery last?
VIVE Eagle runs on a 235mAh battery, offering up to 36 hours of standby time or around 4.5 hours of continuous music playback, according to HTC. The glasses support magnetic fast charging, with a 10-minute charge restoring up to 50% power. On the go, the glasses can be charged using a phone or power bank.
How does HTC handle privacy and security?
HTC stated that VIVE Eagle stores all user data locally and does not upload, track, or use data for AI model training. The company also noted that when third-party AI services are accessed, requests are anonymized. The system uses AES-256 encryption and features an LED indicator that activates during image or video capture. Recording is disabled if the glasses are removed or the light is blocked. HTC added that VIVE AI is currently pending ISO 27001 and 27701 certification.
How much does VIVE Eagle cost?
The glasses are priced at NT$15,600 (approximately USD $520) and come with ZEISS sun lenses, a case, and two years of VIVE AI Plus. VIVE Eagle is also available in four color options: Berry, Coffee, Grey, and Black.
When will VIVE Eagle be available?
Pre-orders in Taiwan run from August 14–31, available at all 2020EYEhaus premium eyewear locations in Taiwan (with optical services), some designated Taiwan Mobile OP Experience Stores, and HTC’s website. Taiwan Mobile customers will be able to purchase VIVE Eagle through designated telecom rate plans starting September 1, 2025. HTC has not yet announced international availability, including a U.S. release.
