Version 4.2 Honkai: Star Rail Includes 3rd Anniversary Events

Version 4.2 of Honkai: Star Rail arrives on April 22, 2026 and, in addition to the new Planarcadia storyline and Silver Wolf alt adds 3rd anniversary events. An official site also opened to share all the upcoming merchandise and worldwide events to celebrate the third birthday of the game and contest. There are also other special releases to honor the game, like a Honkai: Star Rail anime concept trailer from Mappa, a theme song for the event, and planned Round1 releases in May 2026.

There will be many new characters and reruns present in Honkai: Star Rail 4.2. When the update arrives on April 22, 2026, banners for Silver Wolf LV 999, Castorice, The Dahlia, and Firefly will appear. At the halfway point, those will swap out for banners for the five-star characters Evanescia, Feixiao, Tribbie, and Sunday. HoYoVerse also teased the Elation Trailblazer for this patch in the past. 

There are also a number of freebies that will be part of the Honkai: Star Rail 3rd anniversary update, including free characters and Stellar Jades. First, a Festive Gifts login event will give people a total of 20 Special Passes for the limited banners over a seven day period. (You get two passes on days 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6, four on day 4, and six on day 6.) A Blessing message will also appear after the update, with that giving a person 1,600 Stellar Jades and 10 Fuel. The Celestial Invitation will now also include the Argenti, Yunli, and the original version of Silver Wolf. Finally, we’ll all get one Golden Companion Spirit to trade for a free five-star character in the Stellar Convergence Store, and that lineup will be expanded to include Huohuo and Robin.
