Patapon 1+2 Replay Gameplay Trailer Shows QOL Additions

Ahead of Patapon 1+2 Replay returning as a Switch, PS5, and PC game, Bandai Namco shared gameplay footage highlighting some of the changes we will experience in the new compilation. In addition to making the two games more readily available, it means assists to help folks get more accustomed to the rhythmic gameplay.

As a reminder, in Patapon and its sequels, we guide an army of units through stages. Our orders are sent out in time with the beat. Depending on the buttons we press, the crew will perform different actions. This might make them advance, attack, defend, retreat, or carry out other objectives. Between missions, we’ll select which units are in our party and arm them. As we progress, new kinds of commands and characters appear.

With the quality of life features, many of the Patapon 1+2 Replay gameplay additions are designed to make it more accommodating for both newcomers and experienced players. There’s an option to skip some story scenes. Part of this involves the Drum Commands being visible and part of the UI, so people see a constant reminder. The ones shown in the video are Advance, Protect, Charge, Rile Up, Attack, Flee, Miracle, and Jump. You can adjust the timing, if it seems like your inputs aren’t being recognized in a proper way. In the Options, you can increase and decrease input timing to match your own. It is also possible to set the game levels difficulty for each game, with Easy, Normal, and Hard appearing as possibilities.
