Bandai Namco has announced its plans to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Taiko no Tatsujin, which fell on February 21, 2026. The company will notably add more playable songs to the series’ ongoing titles across multiple platforms.
The first major project revealed is “Don-chan’s Major Donderful Song Strategy,” which gradually adds four new songs. The first song is “Re:Play!!” which was composed by Licht Tsuboi and Bandai Namco Studios’ Yoshihito Yano, and performed by Nanahira and Yoko Takamitsu.
This song is immediately available on the arcade release and Rhythm Festival on the Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Bandai Namco will later bring it to the Apple Arcade game Pop Tap Beat in March 2026.
Bandai Namco also announced that a crossover campaign with Sega’s Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage will launch on the arcade releases of Taiko no Tatsujin worldwide except Mainland China from February 25 until April 19, 2026. The following five songs will be available from the event’s launch date for the foreseeable future.
- “Show Off” (a.k.a. “Teratera”)
- “More! Jump! More!”
- “Crazy”
- “Tondemo-Wonderz”
- “Bug”
Playing the above songs during the event period will also let players collect tickets. They will be able to unlock a Colorful Stage mini-character outfit for My-Don-chan by using five of those tickets. In addition, Sega will celebrate the Taiko no Tatsujin 25th anniversary by making several of its songs playable temporarily in Colorful Stage.
Additionally, the annual Taiko no Tatsujin song submission contest, which will take place in the summer of 2026, will have a new U-25 category to coincide with the 25th anniversary. Bandai Namco will also bring in Tatsh, t+pazolite, and LindaAI-CUE as guest judges to determine the winning tracks.

Taiko no Tatsujin first appeared in arcades on February 21, 2001, and it is still available as of February 2026. The series’ latest console game release, Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival, is readily available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
