James Gunn went on showering the crew with praise for their hard work for the upcoming Superman film, and the internet certainly had its own view-many, in fact. The director posted a behind-the-scenes shot of the Atlanta production crew sitting with Gun himself standing at the front of the line with a camera in hand. This shot continues to give the ghostly side of collaboration between the crew, with smiles and laughter resonating. With that surging post-commentifer that seems to smack Gunnar’s Instagram posts, the replies have been entertainment indeed.

The phrase “There is no #Superman without our amazing Atlanta crew!” was meant to salute some unsung heroes who are practically carrying the load of making this movie. Fans, however, couldn’t help but turn this into another in the seemingly never-ending debates surrounding the DC cinematic universe. “Untrue, superman would continue to exist if this movie was never made,” answered one user, proving that these posts never get accepted as simple truth. The jabs continued with “There in no Superman without Henry Cavill. Screw your narcissistic ego.” Ouch.
Henry Cavill remarks became eventually common, with one very creative critic christening the Gunn version “Temu Superman,” in contrast to Cavill. Then, the tide turned positive, with some reactions showing genuine excitement: “I’m so excited for this movie 🤯,” and compliments for the damaged suit: “looks so good.” The international Superman fandom showed up, much to the joy of one fan, who proposed that the Man of Steel ought to meet Indian superhero Jadoo as “they both derive their powers from the Sun.”
One of the less fortunate exchanges went on to weirdness. Another one accused Gunn of deliberately placing himself in the photo “front, middle, sharpest focus,” and the next response linked the Atlanta crew to election conspiracies. The most wholesome reply came from a Spanish-speaking fan who translated their comment as: “Have you seen this? I don’t know what it is about the photo, but I’m even more hyped now.”

Gunn’s movie for Superman is a clean slate for DC Studios, with David Corenswet stepping up to take the mantle. The movie is now shooting in Atlanta and will hit theaters by July 2025. Expectations are up and emotions on either side stirred by this innocuous crew snap judging by the passionate reactions elicited therefrom. Whether the end product can please this divided fan base is for another day, but the testimony stands that every Gunn social media post till that day shall be analyzed with the intensity of Krypton. And since he seems to take all that in stride; he is now living up to his rather-new standard of interacting with stride with these fans, both skeptic and supporter. Love it or hate it, Gunn Superman is about to crash world over, and that is going to fill many-a-plate for ages.
