    What’s the story?

Engo releases engo3 AR sports glasses with Garmin and Apple Watch support and integrated workout data display.

    Why it matters

Athletes can monitor heart rate, pace, and power without breaking form or shifting focus away from their movement.

    The bigger picture

Devices like engo3 shift performance data from a secondary screen to a persistent in-view display, changing how athletes access and respond to training metrics in real time.

April 20, 2026 – Engo, a maker of augmented reality (AR) sports eyewear, has recently announced the launch of the engo3, a connected eyewear device for runners and cyclists featuring a color-coded heads-up display (HUD) in which metrics including heart rate, pace, and power are rendered in red-to-green zones.

Compatible with Garmin and Apple Watch, the device features an integrated ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts display brightness based on conditions for optimal data visibility. A dedicated Workout Mode syncs seamlessly with a user’s Garmin training session, with live gauges showing heart rate zone, pace target, and interval countdown within the eyewear. Additionally, the engo3 is available with a photochromic lens option suited to varying light conditions.

The device covers warm-up, interval, and cool-down phases, with the display turning green when the user is in the target zone and red when they need to push harder or ease off. Engo stated that the glasses are compatible with more than 81 Garmin watches and bike computers, as well as Apple Watch, iOS, and Android.

    Key features of engo3 include:

    • Multi-color display with red-to-green zones and customizable widgets
    • Integrated workout mode
    • Gesture control for data display switching
    • More than 20 hours of battery life
    • Ultra-lightweight design at just 38.5g
    • IP55 rating: resistant to sweat and water spray

Accompanying the hardware is a Garmin-companion app that offers more than 40 metrics and widgets, and is configurable via a drag-and-drop interface. Screen switching is handled via a double-tap on the frame, which the company describes as “smooth, reliable, and glove-friendly.” Additional specifications include Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity, and adjustable temples and nose pads to provide a secure, personalised fit.

The engo3 is available in two lens configurations: a tinted version with category three lenses priced at EUR €349.95, and a photochromic version with light-adaptive category one to two lenses priced at EUR €399.95. The photochromic variant allows users to run or ride comfortably from early morning to evening and in varied weather conditions, according to the company. Variants are available in either black or white, with shipping now underway.
