May 24, 2025 – Avalon Holographics, a provider of holographic display technology, has recently announced the launch of NOVAC, a commercially available holographic table display that allows groups to view and interact with high-fidelity 3D content without the need for glasses, headsets, or tracking systems.
According to the company, NOVAC is a true holographic display table that offers real-time depth and accuracy beyond stereoscopic or single-user technologies. The system enables multiple users to move around the display and view content from various angles simultaneously, supporting collaborative use cases in environments such as defense, healthcare, and manufacturing.
“If you can’t see it, you might miss it,” said Wally Haas, President of Avalon Holographics. “NOVAC gives decision makers all the visual information they need to make the right choice—in a format that is as easy as using a TV. Groups can now simulate scenarios, assess risks and adjust strategies on the fly, ensuring that everything from space missions to surgical training go off without a hitch.”
According to Avalon, NOVAC supports the ingestion of nearly any 3D asset and has already seen uptake in defense applications where situational awareness and mission planning are critical.
The company noted that a recent integration with NVIDIA Omniverse expands the display’s potential for use across manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, robotics, and other sectors utilizing digital twins. Future updates are expected to include voice command functionality.
Avalon stated that it holds 61 patents and has raised USD $65 million in funding to date. The company is currently raising an additional USD $50 million to support the development of an OLED-based successor to NOVAC. The new system would consist of 6-inch flat tile panels that can be combined into larger displays for use in digital twin environments, public exhibitions, and immersive installations.
NOVAC is currently available and optimized for NVIDIA RTX GPUs, with compatibility for both Windows and Linux systems. It integrates with Unreal Engine, Unity, and other digital content creation tools, and supports formats including OBJ, FBX, GLTF, 3DTiles, DICOM, and GIS.
