Sunder Charms are one of the most sought-after items in Diablo 2: Resurrected, and a necessary thing to carry around when players attempt to conquer the most difficult end-game challenges. These unique charms are powerful enough to be game changers, especially for those classes that do not have ways to overcome damage immunities.
If players want to learn all about Sunder Charms, how they work, where to find them, and some extra tricks to make the most out of their effects, then they have come to the right place. This guide offers a lot of important information for those playing Reign of The Warlock, so check out how to obtain a Sunder Charm in D2R 3.0.
Diablo 2: Resurrected Every Class, Ranked
Diablo 2: Resurrected is bringing back a classic debate over which class reigns supreme. Here’s the complete breakdown of where they stand so far.
What Are Sunder Charms in Diablo 2: Resurrected?
If Diablo 2: Resurrected players have been hearing around the mention of the fabled Sunder Charms, they are not going crazy; these unique charms exist and are one of the most useful things to carry around while running the highest difficulty levels in the game.
Sunder Charms work basically by activating a permanent buff (as long as players hold them in their inventory) like regular charms, only that in their case, this buff grants a way to overcome Enemy Damage-type Immunities.
For example, a Unique Monster appears and has a Fire Immunity. Players are running a Warlock in Hell Difficulty, and with a Ring of Fire build, which is basically pure Fire Damage. But this player in particular holds a Sunder Charm called ‘Flame Rift,’ which sunders the monster’s Fire Immunity. Now, Ring of Fire can cause damage normally to that Unique Monster with Fire Immunity.
Path of Exile 2: How to Get Sacred Flame Shrine Scepter
Sacred Flame is a Unique Scepter in Path of Exile 2 that only drops from the hardest boss in the entire game when its at its strongest.
Sunder Charms are powerful, but they come with a catch: In exchange for overcoming the monsters’ damage immunities, the player also loses a wide margin of resistance to that element or damage type. So, these items are to be handled carefully, since even expert players will find it difficult to survive a -70% Fire Resistance in Hell Difficulty.
Sunder Charms can be obtained exclusively from the Hell Difficulty Tier Terror Zones, which makes finding these special items a challenge by itself. Here’s a complete list of all Sunder Charms and their Effects:
|
Charm |
Effect |
|---|---|
|
Flame Rift |
Monster Fire Immunity is Sundered -70 to -90% Fire Resist. |
|
Rotting Fissure |
Monster Poison Immunity is Sundered -70 to -90% Poison Resist. |
|
Crack of the Heavens |
Monster Lightning Immunity is Sundered -70 to -90% Lightning Resist. |
|
Black Cleft |
Monster Fire Magic is Sundered -45 to -60% Magic Resist. |
|
Cold Rupture |
Monster Cold Immunity is Sundered -70 to -90% Cold Resist. |
|
Bone Break |
Monster Physical Immunity is Sundered +10 to +20% increased Physical damage. |
Players should also mind that accumulating two Sunder Charms of the same type will offer no extra benefits, although their negative impact (diminished Elemental, Magical, or Physical resistance) will stack. So, there’s no benefit to carrying two of the same Sunder Charm.
Players don’t need to carry all of these Sunder Charms with them in their inventory all the time. However, there’s an easy trick to have them ready for battle in case players find a tough enemy with Immunity, and that is to carry them inside the Horadric Cube.
As all charms placed inside the Horadric Cube do not benefit the player, the same can be said about Sunder Charms. Carrying the Horadric Cube around with a couple Sunder Charms inside is the perfect way to overcome this handicap.
