Animoca Brands has doubled-down on its existing investment in French developer Cross The Ages Studio.
Having previously led a $3.5 million investment round into the company in May 2024, Animoca has now announced a new strategic investment including an initiative to buy the CTA token from the open market.
The amount of the strategic investment isn’t disclosed, nor is the timing or the amount of CTA it will acquire.
However, the token price has been rising since hitting its all-time-low in February 2025. It’s up 454% since, including a strong 161% rise in the past month.
That stated, the CTA token price remains down 84% from its all-time-high on 17th May 2024. It currently has a circulating marketcap of $37 million.
The reason Animoca appears to have reinvested in Cross The Ages Studio is that it’s preparing to release its second game, a multiplayer action role-playing game called Arise, which has been in development using Unreal Engine 5 for the past couple of years. It is expected to launch on PC in Q4 2025, with Mac and other platforms to follow.
As part of its deal, Animoca will also consult in terms of go-to-market strategy, tokenomics as well as providing liquidity for CTA trading.
Cross The Ages Studios has raised more than $24 million to-date, launching its Cross The Ages TCG in March 2023.
