Fast Forever will start shooting in December, Vin Diesel has revealed.

The long-running saga will end with its upcoming 11th film and the 59-year-old actor and executive producer couldn’t be happier with the script for the final outing for his character Dominic Toretto and the other characters in the beloved action franchise.
Speaking at the 25th anniversary screening of the first film The Fast and the Furious in Los Angeles on Monday (17.08.26), Vin told Variety: “We start shooting in December, if I can make good on the request from the studio.
“I’m in a good place, though. I had to go through four sets of writers, four years of development, to get to something that I felt would be worthy of a finale. And when I read the script a couple of weeks ago, [I cried].”
Vin further opened up on how emotional the script had made him when he addressed the audience inside the screening.
He said: “I’m going to tell you something personal.
“It was after four different writers, four years of development, and after I read the script, halfway through, one tear.
“By the end of the script that we crafted and worked so hard to make right for you after four years, I was crying. I couldn’t hold it back, and I had to tell everyone.
“And my sister said, ‘No more crying, bro.’ So I just want to say that sometimes, even the toughest guys in the world need to cry.”
And earlier this month, the actor teaased Fast Forever has “the best script” he had read in “decades”.
He shared a trailer for the original Fast and the Furious and wrote on Instagram: “You have no idea… When March 17th 2028 comes… you will thank God you got to see the first one in the theaters this summer.
“I just read the Fast Forever script by Mike Leslie. It is the best script I have read in decades. I am still crying…”
Earlier this year, the actor admitted he feels a “particular weight” of “responsibility” to getting Fast Forever right.
He wrote: “25 years. Eight directors. Countless writers, crew members, performers, each one giving something real to a saga that has outlasted trends, cynics, and time itself. That doesn’t happen by accident…It happens because people show up and pour themselves into something bigger than any one individual.
“Sitting across from Mike Leslie, hearing what he plans to contribute to the polish of the next chapter, that same feeling returned. A story with something real beating inside it.
“There is a particular weight that comes with delivering a finale. A responsibility you feel in your chest, to everyone who gave something to get here, to the audience that stayed. You don’t take that lightly. You take it as fuel.
“And when you find out you’re going back to Los Angeles… back to the streets where it all began, something clicks into place. The city that made the first film feel alive, still here, still holding. Coming home to close it out right. That’s not logistics. That’s a gift.(sic)”
