Pokemon GO Players Aren't Happy With New Update

Pokemon GO has made a change to the way captured Pokemon are displayed, and fans aren’t happy about it. The change has not only been called out for not making much sense, but for potentially making it more difficult to safely share screencaps from Pokemon GO of captured Pokemon.

While some Pokemon GO players are upset about the change, others are currently preoccupied with the recent release of Swim Ring Psyduck. The Pokemon was added to the game in cooperation with Pokemon Concierge, the Netflix animated series in which Psyduck plays a major part. Unfortunately, fans who have caught this Psyduck and gone to look at their records are among those to have discovered this annoying problem, and they are calling for a change.

Pokemon GO UI Change Isn’t Popular

On social media sites like Twitter and Reddit, players are calling out a recent change to the UI when viewing caught Pokemon. The change has made it so that the information about where a Pokemon was captured and when have been moved to the top half of the screen, showing up directly under the Pokemon’s typing, weight, and height. Pokemon GO players aren’t happy with the change, as most have no need to look at this information regularly, so it’s simply taking up space at the top of the screen. Additionally, looking at a captured Pokemon no longer shows that a Pokemon was caught while the player was in a party with other trainers, which has disappointed some fans. Players have questioned why these alterations were made, and why it was considered to be a benefit, as many feel that it’s nothing but a downgrade.

In addition to simple annoyance at this info taking up space on the screen, others have pointed out that it makes safely sharing screenshots of captured Pokemon more complicated. Pokemon GO fans have worried about potentially doxxing themselves by sharing screenshots, pointing out that they’ll now have to trim or censor the images to remove the location a Pokemon was caught at before sharing them online. While this information was previously included on the Pokemon’s listing, players had to scroll down to find it, so sharing an image of the top of the Pokemon’s listing didn’t pose any issues, while still relaying the most important information, like a Pokemon’s CP and general stats.

As a live service game, Pokemon GO is constantly changing and evolving, and with enough complaints, it might revert this change. For the moment, though, players will have to put up with this new display order.
