Recently, the comedian and actor Bill Bellamy revealed his remarkable physical fitness by accepting a push-up challenge and proving that he was strong. The 60-year-old star shared on social media a video of him doing push-ups to not only challenge the younger generation but also to promote his upcoming comedy shows in Pittsburgh. The video had a very positive reaction from the followers, and many of them expressed their admiration of the comedian’s fitness and the way he looked.

Bill Bellamy has not only been writing jokes but also doing in an active manner the latter. The aging comedian has uploaded a video where he without a single sign of effort does a dozen of push-ups after it seems that a young man has dared him. He is dressed in Pittsburgh Steelers gear and lies on the ground preparing to do the push-ups and he is so concentrated that it seems he has been doing this for a long time. “When these #YN think they can call out an #OG …. WE MAKE IT HAPPEN BABY!!” was what he wrote in his caption. He also humorously cautioned that he is ready for anyone wanting “that SMOKE” and mentioned his December live shows in Pittsburgh Improv.
The feedback was immediate and very enthusiastic. One anonymous person who might have been there in the past summed up the mood very well by saying, “Doin this at 65 is wild work. You different bro.” The general feeling among the commenters was one of celebration and one user even corrected by saying that the comedian is not 65 and another person wrote, “65? 😂😂😂 mane bill is 60,” which indicates that Bellamy’s act has made him look younger than he is.
A different user made a statement that would be difficult to argue against from the perspective of the challenge. The person was simply wondering, “Why would anybody challenge ANYBODY that looks just like they did 30 years ago?” This was not only a rhetorical question but also a musing about how astonishing Bellamy’s appearance is, and it certainly got agreement in the comments, for instance, a user said, “girl exactly. I’m like do he look like he gonna let you win. He been practice this day for 30 years.” The dialogue on the comments ultimately sided with Bellamy and referred to his relentless pursuit of good fitness.
The topic of age was frequently mentioned in the comments. “Bill 60 years old 🔥,” was the comment from one person who used fire emojis to show how much he/she admired the comedian. “🤣🤣🤣 that’s impressive! 60 the new 30 🔥,” another person maintained, but somebody else gave quite a brutal reality check in the comments: “it’s not 😂😂😂HIS 60 is definitely 30, tho.” The comment acknowledged that going through the whole process of training and discipline one can reach impressive results, however, not everyone in the same age group will be able to do what Bellamy does.

One commenter found it especially relevant the challenge aspect, who also saw bigger meaning saying, “Young men need to see more posts like these!” she wrote. “They listen with their eyes not their ears.” This viewpoint got a strong backing in the comments one user simply commenting, “🎯🎯🎯” and another suggesting, “omg someone pin this 📌,” thus underlining the necessity of being able to see examples of healthy aging.
Not all comments came in the form of praises. One user speculated that it would be a challenge for Bellamy to improve even more, commenting, “Let’s goooo!!!! U tapped out at 30 somethin tho? Come on big dawg 😂 I love this tho.” Another person likewise said, “👏👏👏👏, but let’s go 50 Bill,” indicating that even admiration, some thought he could go further.
The place and time of the challenge was another issue that attracted comments and Bellamy’s Steelers kit made one person to say jokingly, “@billbellamy we could use you in the Steelers Bro👀😅👊🏿👑🤣🤣🤣🤣.” Someone else made a comment about his East Coast origin saying, “You can take the man out of NY but you can’t take the NY out of the man,” even though replies quickly pointed out he actually comes from New Jersey.

In the course of the fitness debate, some kept the mood light with practical concerns. “Now go get some hand sanitizer,” one person advised after Bellamy had done push-ups on what seemed to be a public floor.
